Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview

Uprity is committed to maintaining a trustworthy, ethical platform. This Acceptable Use Policy defines prohibited conduct and consequences for violations.

2. Prohibited Review Practices

You may not use Uprity to:

  • Fake or manipulate reviews: Post, request, or generate fake positive or negative reviews under false identities
  • Buy reviews: Pay third parties to write reviews for you or your competitors
  • Incentivize reviews: Offer discounts, free products, or services in exchange for positive reviews — prohibited under the FTC Endorsement Guides (USA), the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 (India), the IS 19000:2022 standard on online reviews, and most platform policies
  • Review bombing: Orchestrate coordinated negative reviews to damage a competitor
  • Astroturfing: Use fake accounts, family members, or employees to artificially inflate your rating

3. Third-Party Platform Compliance

You must comply with the terms of service of all platforms you integrate with Uprity, including:

  • Google Business Profile: No review manipulation, brigading, or policy violations; comply with Google's API and content policies
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram): No spam, fake content, or misleading advertising
  • WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta): Comply with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy — message only recipients who gave opt-in consent, honor opt-outs immediately, and send no prohibited content
  • Yelp: No review trading, cash-for-reviews, or artificial rating inflation
  • Trustpilot, TripAdvisor, others: Adhere to their platform-specific rules

Violations of third-party ToS may result in suspension from those platforms. We are not responsible for platform-imposed penalties, but we may suspend your Uprity account to prevent further violations.

4. Data Scraping & Unauthorized Access

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download competitor review data
  • Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile Uprity code or APIs
  • Use bots or automated scripts to interact with the Service (except for authorized integrations)
  • Intercept or monitor traffic to or from Uprity

5. Harassment & Abuse

You may not use Uprity to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse reviewers or other users
  • Doxx (publish private information) about individuals
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages or spam
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Encourage or facilitate harassment of others

  • Conduct unauthorized security testing without written permission
  • Disrupt or degrade the performance of the Service

8. Spam & Unsolicited Communication

You may not use Uprity to:

  • Send unsolicited emails or messages (including WhatsApp or SMS) to recipients who have not opted in
  • Upload purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists for messaging campaigns
  • Continue messaging recipients who have opted out or asked you to stop
  • Operate a mailing list or mass-messaging service unrelated to your own customers
  • Spam review sections with repetitive or irrelevant content

9. Consequences for Violations

Violations of this policy result in progressive enforcement:

Tier 1: Warning

First-time minor violations (e.g., reviewing policy guidance) receive a warning email with details and remediation steps.

Tier 2: Suspension

Repeated violations or serious misconduct (e.g., confirmed fake reviews, harassment) result in a 7–30 day account suspension. Access is blocked, but data is retained.

Tier 3: Termination

Egregious violations (e.g., coordinated review fraud, illegal activity) result in permanent account termination and data deletion. Banned users cannot create new accounts.

10. Appeals

If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal within 30 days by contacting legal@uprity.com with:

  • Your account email
  • Explanation of why you believe the enforcement was incorrect
  • Any supporting evidence

We will review and respond within 10 business days.

11. Cooperation with Authorities

We cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, and third-party platforms to investigate violations and prevent fraud. We may disclose your account information without notice if legally required or to prevent harm.
